Meet the Director
Karen Culpepper, Camp Treetops Director
Twenty years ago, the lure of simple, natural living wooed Karen, her husband John, and their three children to Camp Treetops and North Country School. In the years since, Karen has served in many roles at Treetops—from counselor to program director and camp director—and never looked back. A graduate of Springfield College, she is well versed in the fields of environmental, experiential, and special education, as well as recreation and physical therapy. Karen’s passionate commitment to the philosophy, adventure, and community that make up the Treetops experience has deepened over the years and been strengthened by her own children’s longtime involvement as campers and counselors. A year-round Treetops resident, Karen fully appreciates all four Adirondack seasons and enjoys hiking, swimming, skiing, or running with family and friends.
