Our staff members are skilled and love children. An impressive number are themselves former Treetops campers with roots that run deep. A nine-year-old who may have discovered hiking here decades ago now leads today’s campers into the mountains she still loves.
A great strength of our staff is its mix of age and experience. Older counselors, many of whom are teachers during the school year, provide the wisdom of seasoned educators or of parents who have raised their own children. Younger counselors infuse the summer with energy, creativity, and the fresh enthusiasm of newcomers, and international staff expose children and adults alike to an enriching diversity of language, ideas, customs, and practices valued by all.
We choose our counselors carefully—and are blessed with an exceptionally high ratio of returning staff each year. Intensive staff training prior to the opening of Camp and weekly staff meetings throughout the summer make sure all our counselors maintain the highest professional standards.
