Admissions

"There is no better gift to my daughter nor better investment I could make than to continue her education at North Country School."

     — NCS parent

North Country School seeks to enroll students who are capable of being engaged in the classroom, the outdoors, the arts, and the social community. The school provides a challenging academic curriculum for children of average or above average intelligence. With its emphasis on progressive education, the school is also successful with gifted students and children with different learning styles. North Country is primarily boarding, but does enroll day students and five-day boarders.

A decision to accept is based upon a child’s application, school records, conversations with the child’s parents or guardians, recommendations from those who have taught the child, results of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, and an on-campus interview.

Applications to North Country School are considered on a rolling admissions basis; midyear enrollment is possible. There are no application deadlines or fees. Applications are invited for grades 4-9.

Qualified children are admitted without regard to race, creed, color, ethnicity, or national origin.  A scholarship fund permits the school to provide tuition reductions to a number of students who would otherwise be unable to attend.
