Technology
North Country School has a fully-equipped computer lab with 15 workstations and a cart with 20 laptops for classroom or studyhall use. Additional computers in the Learning Lab, library, and various classrooms make for a computer-to-student ratio of 1:3. All computers are networked, and students may store their class work on the server. While we stay current with cyber and electronic advances, we also pride ourselves on a judicious use of technology that limits students' unproductive “screen time.”
Students in Levels I and II take typing and word processing lessons. Upper level classes learn proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint presentations. Our arts classes include digital photography and video editing, and we teach responsible use of the internet for research.
The computer lab is available to students during afternoon and evening study halls, and through the library all students have access to a variety of full-text online databases.
